  John was born 1833 at Sandy Point, Newfoundland. John was the son of Sebastian BENOIT and Theotiste JESSEAU. John died November 24, 1905 at Cow Head, District of St. Barbe, Newfoundland, at age 72.      From Bay St. George, NF, John and brothers Charles and Harry came to Bonne Bay with their parents. John and Charles married and stayed, the rest of the family returned to Bay St. George.
