Azariah was a petitioner to the following petition of 1885. «b»PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT - 1885«/b»"To His Honour, The administrator of the Government of Newfoundland and its Dependencies. May it please your Honour; Whereas we the undersigned Householders of Bonne Bay, St. Barbe; Did Petition to his Excellency Sir John H. Glover in Council during the last Winter that he would be pleased to grant that a Public Wharf might be constructed at a Central part of the Settlement namely Bailey's Point or Neighbourhood for the convenience of Landing Merchandise form the Coastal Steamers and wheras efforts are being made to secure the construction of a wharf at the North end of the Settlement to the great inconvenience of the most populous poirtion of this Bay viz the Southern and Central. We respectfully represent that in any provision that may be made for the landing of Merchandise from the Said Steamers. The Interests and convenience of the whole of the Settlements of Bonne Bay proper would on the opinion of Your petitioners be best considered and secured by the Construction of a Wharf and Store in the neighbourhood of Bailey's Point aforesaid. And your petitioners will ever Pray."
