According to the 4 baptismal records #21-24, Thomas and Mary had Benjamin, Thomas, Ralph and Madeleine baptised on Friday, 03 August 1849 by the Rev Todd Jones, one of the priests accompanying Biship Feild. It is still a mystery as to what Mary's surname was. Some argue that Captain Jock was Captain Jock Mitchell. However, that may be wishful thinking on their part. On the other hand it may turn out to be true. At the moment it is all conjecture. In this business you have to conjecture...just keep it to yourself...the next person reporting it leaves off the conjecture cautions.
